Mini update - getting started on the diorama building part. Remember that new toy/tool I mentioned in the last post? It arrived! Even with a few learning curve wobbles (which are small enough that they'll be covered by the ground surface texture and a veneer wrap) really excited what I was able to do with this, really makes for a nice clean accurate cut.1 And the bar holding the hot wire folds all the way down, so the whole thing stores pretty compact on the shelf!
This weekend hoping to find time to get started on the actual diorama building! Excited for this phase.

Not pictured: lots of fans and an open window; the internet seems pretty split on how toxic fumes from melting XPS at the temps involved are but figure probably not the best thing to breathe if avoidable
Just FYI will probably be late on this one, got squeezed between lingering move-in projects on one hand and renfaire costume prep on the other, should have craft time to spare to finish up the diorama mid-June
