first of all i love that i can just go down a rabbithole and people will appreciate it. i truly appreciate every last comment, and I'm taking your wishes for safe healing to heart-- im trying very hard not to continue thinking about this (both the poop toys and the copyright dystopia).

that being said, my wife @HypatiaPhoto has solved the remaining mystery-- "Fart Jacobs" is a reference to another brand of handbag, "Marc Jacobs". I don't feel bad about not getting this one!

when i asked if she had any words for her acceptance speech, she came up with this: "wait the black eyed peas are the ones suing here, when, like, Louis Vuitton--" exasperated, she chose to play more Kerbal Space Program instead of finish her sentence.

fwiw my understanding is that "parody" is only meant to protect riffing on something in order to specifically make fun of the source material, not simply remixing it in a way that's funny. so my guess is that they'll have a hard time making a case here that their advertising song is somehow commentary about the original
