A solargraph of today's solar eclipse from approximately 9:20 AM to 11:40 AM MDT captured with a homemade 8x10" pinhole camera. The long bright trail in the top-left image is the Sun as it moved across the sky, the gap in the trail is not from the eclipse but from an accident with the yellow filter falling off mid-exposure and piece of tape covering the pinhole. Unfortunately this mostly ruined the image as a demonstration of the eclipse, but we still really like how it turned out.


Image was exposed as a negative on Ilford RC Pearl paper, developed in Photographer's Formulary 130 Paper Developer for ~25 seconds, fixed, washed and, while still wet contact printed onto another wet sheet of RC paper to form a positive. We are not sure what caused the ghostly artifacts present throughout the image, they appear on the negative and likely formed during development.
