No but this is exactly what I'm fucking talking about. I'm tired of some vote-blue-no-matter-who dildo jumping into a comment section or my mentions or my DMs like "um excuse me sweaty it's just the Republicans' fault." It's not tho! Democrats hold power too! They hold federal fucking power right now, just because Republicans hold the house doesn't mean Democrats are powerless! The entire Senate voted on a resolution - introduced by Chuck Schumer! - in full-throated support of Israel just this week! 97-0! When rubber meets road Democrats have proved time and again that they are not the "harm reduction" option.

These milkfed motherfuckers are condemning groups like Jewish Voice For Peace, likening them to Hamas supporters, for being ideologically consistent and protesting a genocide. People are being arrested, they're being fired from their jobs, they're being blackballed by universities and other institutions for doing the right thing and supporting Palestinians in defiance of "the West."

So let's talk about sides. My side is actively antifascist. My side is against white supremacy. My side is against colonial oppression and border violence. If your "side" routinely gives ground to khaki-wearing shitheads bearing tiki torches and cheerfully funds genocide then we're not on the same side.

I'm generally in the "vote democrats as the lesser evil but spend most of your political energy on a better cause " camp, but acting like Democrats are meaningfully better on Palestine than Republicans is absurd.

Unlike you, I'm still comfortable calling them the lesser evil on net, but there are plenty of areas where they're just as bad as Republicans, and this is one of them.

Also, saying "republican congressmen" have the real power on a foreign policy matter when a democrat is in the fucking white house just shows this dude doesn't even understand how the US government works.

Welcome to international policy; there are no good answers sometimes, just less bad ones, and even those take time if they come about.
