So this is one of the things I didn't realize the value until it was gone.
This comic was on Naver Webtoon from 2008, but I didn't even know its existence since it barely got attention from the comedy-centric nature of Webtoon back then and that I barely read any webtoon in the first place. It was only after the illustrator (Kim Jung Gi)'s sudden death last year and a fiasco of one guy using 'art ai' to pay respects to him that I got to learn about Kim Jung Gi's previous works which included this comic. And have to say I ended up digging through the webs for days and spend $50 because Naver deleted this work for no reason.
This isn't the best comic I've read in my life, have to say. The story and the settings are showing their age - not only by the phones but with social atmosphere, harassment, work environment etc. It often tries to dig into finances and economics stuff but unfortunately everything cuts off at the second arc because the series got cancelled with no explanation.
Despite all the plot issues, I still linger on this series for these cartoon animals. Maybe because of they fit my 'preferences' in characters so well, maybe because of occasionally finding relatable moments in those cartoon animals living through the late 2000s Seoul. On top of this I also really liked how many of the cuts would have intricate backgrounds.
Discovering this comic made me go through Kim Jung Gi's works and almost everytime I would tear up. I still am having hard time accepting someone incredibly talented to die so unexpectedly. I don't think this series would've gotten completed considering how little attention and care it got, but it hurts to feel that this series really has ended in cancellation.
