Hello! You can call me Cypher, I'm going to try and use this space as mix of my fandom interests as well as a place to post my essay long rants and maybe some other writing I get up to.

There's no such thing as a roleplaying game going perfectly and the sooner you realize that the missed opportunities, flaws, and mistakes you make are what make the experience beautiful the better.

something that clicked for me a bit ago was that I was still in "wrap up the campaign" mode as my group is doing worldbuilding through some games for our next campaign.

i was getting increasingly bothered by how inefficient the players were being. we only get limited time each week and it was quickly becoming a thing where we'd barely make progress as single scenes would go on for an hour as players elaborated. then i'd take my turn and finish in under 4 minutes cause i was trying to be efficient. and finally i just fucking... let go of that expectation?

the only one creating these goals is myself, everyone else is having a good time. just let it go and enjoy the flow.

Every night I think about how Svarog never got to ask anybody if they loved him. I know the answer would be no but it's one of those missed opportunities in ttrpgs that make it so poignant.
