Something that I completely forgot about Death Stranding is that sense of scale is all fucked up. From a design perspective I get it, you want a run to be like 5-10 mins and still be a fun time, so you make the world small. It would be kinda absurd to make the world anything close to a 1-to-1 scale of the United States.
On the other hand, it means that when you deliver something a 5-10 min walk away and the person in the bunker is like "i've been waiting 3 years for this package and to set up our home internet" it does completely take you out of the immersion lol
