for the spooky month of october i wanted to finally do the pumpkin with wings that some suggested :D!
i also added to the idea and gave it a little tail too >:)!
i'll be naming them the "Bampkin" (bat + pumpkin)!

That makes me think of those cursor "tails" that were all the rage in the late-90s on websites. Looks like a similar thing. Do the added sprites hurt performance or are they no big deal ?
They are not really performance heavy :p, the parts of the tail just follows the past recorded positions of the pumpkin(they dont use physics or other stuff).
In the end the only thing the code for this does is snap a sprite to a recorded position =)! (which you can limit the maximum recorded amount depending on how far you want the trail to go :p!)
