I had a really good time at Frosty Faustings! The goal I set for myself was to just get a single win and not go 0-2, so I'm gonna continue feeling smug about this for exactly four more minutes until it's time to get back on the grind. I ended up being just one game away from getting out of my pool! I was really worried I was gonna be nervous, especially since it was my first time playing Street Fighter for serious in person—and I WAS nervous, my fingers were literally TREMBLING while I played my first four sets, oh my god, I've never experienced that in my entire life before, geeze—but it helped a ton having a whole crew of dear friends there to support me, it was super fun! I wanna do this more. I wanna do this WAY more. All the practice I've been doing has definitely paid off, although I am excited to finally play a second fighting game again (UNI my beloved!) now that I'm not super-focused on getting good for just one.

Setting goals for myself before worked great so here's some new ones:

  • go to Evo and make it out of my initial pool (this will be hard)
  • make it to Master rank by Evo (this will also be hard but I think I can do it)

Alright, anyway, back to the grind!

very cool! I've been trying to get out and be more social lately in the Toronto card game scene, so sometimes i just show up to tournaments for games i've never played and then keep showing up if i like the groups i played with. It's fun to go to these things and just mess around and meet people!
