I'm still here, but it might just be the two of us.

Chiori is probably going to be a skip for me. I'm not really on the mono-geo train, and it seems like she is best with a bunch of other geo units. I already pulled for Navia specifically so I'll have a pocket Geo unit for the rare cases where I need it. But I guess I'll see for sure when she releases.

I'm most interested to see how the new "Chronicled Wish" banner works. Genshin has a problem that there are too many characters now, so it takes a lot of planning/saving to get the character you want if you didn't get them on release. Hopefully the new banner alleviates some of that.

Edit: Looks like they released more info on the new banner.

  • It uses event wishes rather than standard wishes (ugh #1)
  • It follows a "fate" system like the weapon banner but just like the weapon the fate points don't carry over to the next banner (ugh #2)
  • You only need 1 fate point to guarantee your next 50/50 (instead of 2 like the weapon banner), so its basically just like a regular event banner in that respect

Overall, its like a slightly crappier event banner where your 50/50 losses don't carry over. Personally, I'm pretty disappointed that it doesn't use standard wishes and instead directly competes with the event characters.

The end result is that you still need to have a large amount of wishes saved up at once if you want to guarantee that you get the character you want. Its not much different than planning/saving for the event banner. (I guess it only makes a difference for whales since they don't need to wait for re-runs.)

That's understandable - I mainly like Chiori as a character, rather than as a unit. She seems like a Geo Fischl, which is interesting, but probably niche.

That's rather underwhelming. You're right; it just sounds like a Whale Quality-of-Life improvement. Guess it also slightly helps those who don't care for who's on rateup, at least.
