There are 2 episodes left this season and due to the events of episode 8 and a spoiler of a scene that was included in one of the season promos on marvel's youtube channel, I know they're going to do a certain major thing from the comics. The reason I'm so certain they're going to do this thing is because if they didn't do it now there would be no third bite of the apple. The reason I say third bite is because the story that's very likely going to be adapted during these last 2 episodes was ALREADY adapted once during the original animated series, but was changed significantly to the point that a more faithful adaptation could still be made without retreading the same ideas.
X-Men '97 has already surprised people by adapting stories and events from the comics that no one thought was possible as part of an animated series due to their heavy nature, and have done so with depth and maturity that was also surprising. There's a particular important event that had major impacts upon the era that will very likely take place within these last two episodes. It's an event that has never been adapted from the comics in moving picture form despite it acting as a "gate" that must be unlocked to do certain other important stories. They've already shown from previous episodes that they are willing to GO THERE so I have no doubt that they're going to go there on this one. ...It's going to be interesting to see how they visually do it with a TV PG rating, but they're totally going to do it.
