(this info goes from the blurry haze of my memory from like 4 years ago)

That checks out, given what I've read! And especially as we move toward more dense networks of weaker transmitters, that's going to be even more of a thing, aside from transmissions we deliberately send into space. (Which aren't exactly in short supply, but are nonetheless a tiny fraction of our telecommunications activity.)
