I think my favourite solution to the Fermi paradox is the "humans are just incredibly early to the whole Getting Into Space thing" one?
It makes me hope that we'll somehow sort out our problems so completely that we'll be able to be around for other species figuring out spaceflight.
also the fermi paradox kinda assumes that other life would be able to detect us easily, but the amount of strong radio signals we send into space is like not that much. the normal tv transmissions don't go super far as far as i remember last time i tried to look this up. (this info goes from the blurry haze of my memory from like 4 years ago)
That checks out, given what I've read! And especially as we move toward more dense networks of weaker transmitters, that's going to be even more of a thing, aside from transmissions we deliberately send into space. (Which aren't exactly in short supply, but are nonetheless a tiny fraction of our telecommunications activity.)
