Now's a good time to grab it if it interests you at all. It's a character-driven read about a knight who doesn't kill the dragon, and a mage who is more than a damsel in a tower.

Implicit ace rep (I'm asexual and the characters I write are written as such), if you're looking for queer books to support this holiday season.

It's been a rough year, so boosts are greatly appreciated, too.

It's available for Amazon Kindle now, but as of this post it's not on the B2R link yet. Try this: https://a.co/d/4ZRh8bW

"Since the death of her mentor, Melanie has been adrift without purpose. Entrusted with a sword of great power and an unknown past, the young knight hears of a legend that tells of an elven mage imprisoned in a great tower and guarded by a mighty dragon in the tallest mountain in the land of Diamondpeak. Desperate to make a name for herself, she sets out to slay the dragon, free the elven mage, and become a hero in her own way.

But when the time comes, can she do it? Or is there another role that she's supposed to play?"

Content note: There's some blood, violence, and brief moments of peril but it should be suitable for all ages.

First in a planned series of short novellas.

I'm not sure if this is necessary to say here, and I definitely don't mean it as a marketing tactic like I've seen elsewhere, but I'd like to say that the main characters are asexual (implicit rep) and the depiction of Melanie's physical pains are drawn from my own experiences (I have a bad back and bad knees, among other things).

I consider this a low stakes fantasy because there's no drawn out grand quest to save the kingdom or the world or whatever. If low stakes isn't your thing, that's just fine! I've got other books in the works that might be more your speed.

After years of work, it's finally here. I'm so excited and also incredibly nervous.

I've been working on this novella in some form since 2020, with stress from the pandemic + stress at my former workplace + the depression I already suffer worsening from those two factors making this take much longer than I would have liked. But it's here now and I'm so excited/nervous I'm going to noclip through the planet.

I'm considering it low stakes in that there's no grand world-saving quest here. It's character-focused, and the great war has already happened. The two main characters are asexual, for anyone looking for ace books, but it's implicit rep (I write all my leads as ace whether that's outright said in the text or not).

Please consider checking it out or giving this a boost!
