We've done our best.
I guess I can be satisfied with that.
The fighting isn't over, and really, it never will be.
But with you by my side, I think I can handle it.

Whether it's with a warm fire or a kind rain...
We'll build a home we can be proud of.

i'd love to read any of those things in a mailing list! if there's one thing i've learned from cohost it's that i'd much rather read someone enthusiastically rambling about whatever they love than watching them try to stay professional and on-topic.

my mailing list is mostly game updates but i have a section at the end of each post where i can ramble about interesting games i've played, films i've watched, books or comics or posts i've read, and it works out fine. the way i think about it is i pretend i'm talking to someone who hasn't seen my game or any social media in a few weeks, so i'm just like "here's everything i've made for my game, here are some games i played recently and why i love them, and here's all the cool shit i've seen on the internet"

ahh, thanks cass!! i do worry like... am i even gonna have enough to write about? but if i do it monthly or so i think it should be plenty, and i expect to have a lot more to talk about in the future

your approach sounds good!! i think a mix of "here's my project update" and "here's some other cool stuff i like, that you might like" seems really solid

if you find that you don't have enough to write about, you can always just change it to be less frequent. my mailing list used to be weekly a few years ago but i dropped it down to biweekly and no one complained. most of my favorite blogs and mailing lists only update a few times each year. people want to read whatever you have to say, they don't care about you meeting a quota
