cohost needs notification coalescing for likes, I woke up this morning to 99+ notifications (enough to have to click "load more" multiple times), all but like 10 of which were just notifications of people liking the same chosts, or one person liking a bunch of chosts in a row.
twitter's "automatically merge nearby likes into one entity" either by user or by post, is really good for making a big pile of notifications manageable.
This is an entirely valid take but because tumblr used to do it this way I know I personally MUCH PREFER chronological notifications. If someone liked 40 backlog posts I want to FEEL THAT DOPAMINE. That's a PERSON behind each like. I love that cohost goes a out of its way to avoid turning people into faceless numbers!
I would like a separate list for mentions and comments though.
