Looks like Goblin Band (a fediverse tumblr-like) has opened registration for any cohost people who want to try it. I've registered an account in case anyone wants to post an interact over there:

It's only been a couple days, but so far I'm into it. It's clearly fairly early in dev, so it feels a bit like riding in a bus while it's still being built, but what's here so far is nice. I really appreciate a fediverse blogging app that feels like blogging, not... twitter. The main non-twitter fediverse apps I've seen so far have been very different things (Flipboard, not-reddit, not-instagram, not-youtube) rather than something like this.

The interactions with mastodon occasionally get slightly weird, because it does a handful of things that are legal in ActivityPub but that Mastodon doesn't support, but I think that's fine.

Really my main problem is I don't have as many people to post and interact with who are using the same UI, which probably means I need to just follow more fediverse people from it.

I joined myself and see promise here (especially because I managed to find and follow foone). Has some tumblr issues due to this being a tumblr style site, but it doesn't have the same culture as tumblr right now, which is a huge plus.

I'm just on the main mastodon.social instance because the prospect of my account disappearing if I hedge my bets on the wrong server is scary. However after signing up it appears there's an option in account settings to move one's account to a different instance? If that actually works reasonably well (migrating over all your posts, reposts, replies, media) then that would be pretty neat.

They stay there as long as your server still exists, unless you delete the account. The account itself gets marked as inactive, with a note saying it's been migrated and pointing to the new location.
