Despite the early optimism, it does not seem like SEGA is going to voluntarily recognize the recently declared Allied Employees Guild Improving SEGA, which announced its intent to unionize the company last month. According to AEGIS, actually, the company appears to be trying to delay the election and interfering with the unionization process.

Accordingly, they're asking people to sign this letter (which you can do here when you get a moment) in support of the union, which will be sent directly to SEGA's leadership:

According to worker rights advocacy center LaborLab, which reports on union-busting activities:

SEGA of America has hired consultants at Heightened Solution to conduct anti-union "persuasion" against workers and CWA 9510.

This is not a super surprising development, given the aforementioned attempts by SEGA to interfere with an election being held and their refusal to voluntarily recognize AEGIS-CWA. Still: disappointing!
