reading some of the comments people post in response to tf2 updates, it really feels like tf2 players will always find something to complain about, and i'm starting to understand why valve stopped giving a shit about this game.
it's genuinely a miracle we're getting this many updates recently to begin with. sure, it's mostly just bugfixes, but frankly, the fact that it's anything besides more cosmetics and bog-standard seasonal events says to me there's more going on behind the scenes than we realize.
a long running joke in tf2's community is that the game is full of "spaghetti code" after an entire decade of continuous maintenance and content/feature updates. so what if all these recent bugfix updates have been the dev(s?) trying to clean up tf2s codebase before turning to major updates in the future?
haven't you guys noticed many of the recent bugs being fixed include things that have been in the game for literal YEARS? some even dating back to around the initial release of the game? i find it hard to believe these are things valve could've done on a whim. like there's just way too much happening for this to be something to "get players to shut up"
i feel like something big is coming. but i also feel like it's gonna ultimately be abandoned because valve is probably gonna be like "even after all this, we still can't make tf2 players happy. so fuck it."
sometimes i genuinely wonder if the community would've been happier in the end if valve didn't respond to #savetf2 at all.
