windows constantly adding shitty features and hiding the options to change or disable them behind the barely legible registry editor and the group policy editor is probably the most infuriating thing i've seen unfold in the tech industry over the past decade and im so tired of it.
ads in the start menu? edit the registry.
dont want to lose all your work to a forced restart for a system update? group policy editor.
want to simply install the fucking OS without an internet connection? lmao sucks to suck. keep giving us your money
after dealing with microsoft's dumb fuckery for so many years, i am genuinely no longer interested in using windows anymore. ive had enough of this god awful OS treating me like a child who can't be trusted to do anything on their own for more than 10 seconds, or a customer that constantly needs to be sold some useless crap. enough is enough.
and i'll admit getting my steam deck a few months ago has definitely influenced this decision. you know why? because linux (or valve's version of it, anyway) has done the one thing windows hasn't done in literal years:
it just fucking works.
