if you give your fursona wings and have them attached at their hips they're not going to be able to generate enough lift to get airborne unless you also give them the biggest, meatiest ass and absolutely shredded abs, it's an important character detail you'll need for a more believable design
it's like with bipeds with digitigrade legs, you've lost the stability of an ankle that rests on the ground and now that work has to be done with the thighs and glutes with a leverage disadvantage, so it takes a fair bit of muscle mass
