Starting to think that the mere concept of "legal" and "illegal" immigration is in and of itself a racist construct.
By which I mean it should be abundantly clear that the systems of visas and associated screening is a reservation of the right to say "We don't want your kind here" to anyone who would otherwise be happy to just check in and declare themselves at the border. Every immigration crisis is in and of itself a manufactured issue based on cruel and myopic restrictions to the basic freedom of movement and shored up by the racist insistence that foreigners are somehow a liability or burden unless they can be judged to see if they're "one of the good ones".
