Always kinda upset by how discourse about media spoilers goes these days. Like at the risk of sound like a senile "those darn kids!" hag I really don't enjoy how it's treated as a minor crime to discuss anything beyond the first ten minutes MAYBE of any given piece of media. Like I understand that everyone has different standards for what is and is not a spoiler, some people don't care about being "spoiled" on completionist content in a video game cuz they won't see it themselves, some people earnestly want to be surprised by it. I just would posit that people's standards are tightening to want fewer spoilers because our media is just so banal and predictable these days we want to be surprised by SOMETHING. Even our escapism is soulless capitalist slop these days and everyone desperately wants a fix of nostalgia for when media was full of genuine wonder and awe for them. So they just identify prolific discourse as the problem, which it certainly can be, and try to consume media as uncritically as possible to avoid discourse and the spoilers that'll come with it.
What I'm saying is that when Starfield comes out there will be "spoilers guys!" posts talking about that game's Preston Garvey stand-in as if his presence is in any way surprising or unexpected and it's gonna take months off my life every time I see it.
