Part of my ongoing efforts to, you know, not overthink solos. This solo was taken in one take, warts and all 🤪
I think I'm going to change up my rules though. This time I tried really hard to make the guitar sound on it's own, with out listening to the track at the same time, though I did take a couple of seconds in the middle of the song to make sure I was in the right key... Then I just, like, did the solo (after a little planning, which turned out alright, imo).
The issue is that since I compose by playing...I was super uncomfy with my playing and the whole thing feels super hesitant to me as a result. And since I'm really just trying to make it be "one take" rather than "only play on the song once...". I'm going to self impose a limit of jamming on the song twice before hitting the record button. So, two jams, then a slam? I dunno, someone smarter than me will need to come up with some phrasing.
Still, I thought this turned out fairly well :D. Kind of a fun sound as well, so, yeah! Hopefully you enjoyed it and hopefully you are inspired to try something similar yourself when working on your own one take challenges.
