Here's a little thought experiment I use to show why it is that my brain being feminine simply means I am a woman. Probably full of holes, but I figured I'd share just incase anyone else can get use out of it :D
Your brain and body are supposed to develop in a way that makes their genderization consistent. But, in the case of trans-folk that hasn't happened. My brain is a women's brain, I can guarantee that...
Oh, and to me that ends up meaning I'm simply a woman. Think of it this way: If someone has their legs and arms removed, their gender doesn't change at all, right? Granted, no sex organs have been removed at that point, but when folks lose arms and legs we don't go "oh, you aren't that same person, you are now someone different."
Then we can take that to the next level: In Futurama they had a big running gag where they had famous people (like Nixon) who's heads had been preserved and could somehow live without their bodies. But it was never in question that the head of Nixon was still Nixon. It seems that's just how humans see things as they never had to explain it on the show. Folks just accepted that the head was that person.
Then take it even one step further: If I were to take my brain out of my head and put it into a robot, am I still me? This is a bit more of a logical leap, but I think most folks (given no context, ie., they don't know this is a gotcha π) would agree that if you're brain is in there controlling the robot, then it's you in there. You are the one controlling the robot.
Therefore, your brain is you.
Therefore, your brain is the most fundamental essence of who you are.
Ergo, if my brain is structured and feels like a woman (and it is and does), then I am a woman.
My body is the mistake. Really my second X chromosome is somehow missing a leg, but that's not my fault, it'd glue it on if I could π. No matter how I got in this weird body, my brain is who I am and I am most certainly a woman.
