I have always been and always will be an avid proponent of just typing out the whole-ass title of some piece of media when you talk about it, at least once.
I think the best example I can show as to why this is so important comes from when Destiny 2 was still new and in the conversation; and people had taken to calling it "D2". There are two big problems with this, the fact that for almost a quarter of a century a significant number of people online have used "D2" to refer to the game Diablo 2, a game that is very similar in concept to Destiny 2; but even moreso is there just is a game called D2. It's the sequel to the game D even though it doesn't play anything like it. There is a D2, it exists! I would have loved to talk with people about D2, I've wanted to be able to do that for ages, but no, people just wanted to talk about some live-service content-muncher game.
Please, just use your words. That's all I ask. Also try D2, maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't, but you'll never know unless you try.
