Is it ... Organic? Does this character have cohesive lore I can read?
i have not written lore but yes this is basically organic. a basic summary is what if i gave a freak that barely considers itself 'human' a symbiotic organism that makes anything possible inside physiologically, but also the host has to think and learn about how things work for them to take shape. and the host decidedly keeps going for more mechanical designs even if it circumvents efficiency, because Machines are Cool, I'm Like One

yeah, the mechanical aspect is more Visceral/sensual on it's body parts and how it feels it processes thoughts /behaviours.
the way it thinks or is is a whole different thing that may make it seem different/machine like in thought but that's just the other kind of brain funkiness. standard gamut of emotion is still there even if a bit weird
I suppose it's kind of like instead of seeing a machine as lacking emotion it perceives the attitude of its way of operation as an emotion, so to say. the way it does something carries a certain feeling.
I see! Does it have feelings of mortality/ ethics? Or does it view itself as a tool the way a machine like a drill is?
that's a bit more wishy washy. I don't think it thinks too much about it's moral standing besides its own personal code, and following directives as long as they align. it can disagree and be stubborn and disengage since it's somewhat autonomous despite it all. it does like just following directions but yes, with caveats and or objections
