So, I had made a chart based on Technoir's Transition/Map Nodes/Master Table thing, and used it to generate some ideas for random jobs for the party. I think I like this more than the default Shadowrun Run Generator that's in the book. Mission details below the cut.
So the party's enemy Roko, who has a few screws loose since getting Zapped by Rodge, informs the party that Saeder Krupp is demoing a prototype urban tank in the Barrens for Lone Star. Pretty straightforward, but the Runner Event is the real twist. I need to lean on something happening based on the party's actions here as an unexpected twist.
UPPL jobs are very terse and impersonal. They need to get a Humanis member out of a club that's held by a Japanese gang. The listing doesn't mention that it's a Humanis member being held for ransom. The job provider does not expect anyone hired to live, but will use whatever outcome to their benefit. Lone Star is the closest backup.
Last job is that someone wants a fancy USB device delivered and slotted into the server of an office basement's server room. Right in their main access panel. The client is an actor who is annoyed with Horizon's latest filming session and they were going to use bad takes so they didn't have to pay him an extra day, he wants the data gone. Device is a bomb triggered by a phone number provided after job acceptance. It is not indicated that this number will explode the bomb. Another runner group will also be trying to do this run for the paycheck and will not be willing to share.
Pretty satisfied how these came together as ideas from those simple prompts. And the table can easily evolve as things change in the world, or I could even make different tables for different types of things.
