Tabletop, video games, sports and maybe someday some other things if I get the ambition to learn.

Bravely Default 2 does one of my favorite video game things at the Very Very End.

Breaking or modifying a core mechanic or skill you've had throughout the whole game. Normally you can only Brave up to 3 times (for a total of 4 turns in a row), but to escape a situation, your amount of "turns" extends past the edge of the screen, several dozen of them. You don't get to TAKE all those turns, but recontextualizing that option in that moment was cool as hell.

See also: Earthbound's "Pray" at the end, Undertale removing "Mercy", hell even Final Fantasy 7 giving you Omnislash to finish Sephiroth even if you don't have it unlocked. That's the Good Shit.
