Had to make an edit to some of my worldbuilding because I finally just looked some shit up and did some research. Can't have a monarchy ruled place be called a Republic, so that's been changed. Also swapping it from a monarchy to a Diarchy because I like the idea of this religious country having Co-Popes, with each of the states representing the "minor gods" of the religion.
Because I want to research Shinto, everything is a play off that. The switch to a diarchy was inspired by the Izanami/Izanagi pairing. I will not be trying to use them... authentically? Because I don't think i'd do a good job representing them, but it can give me an excuse to research it more.
