Verdict: our oven fucking sucks. It cooks at like 25-75 degrees hotter than what we set it at. Tried to compensate for this, but still ran too hot. Outside burnt, inside raw. Trying to throw some slices in the toaster oven, which works better but is too small to do baking in, but don't know how salvageable this loaf will be.

We ate a slice of the heel yesterday, and it was alright, needed a bit more spice, but if it is fixable in the toaster oven, some cinnamon sugar and butter will do it good.

Next time, we need to make more adjustments.

not sure what kind of loaf pan you're using but a potential way to help combat this could be using a glass instead of metal pan to slow down heat conduction so the edges don't scorch (as quickly)

We did use glass. It scorched on top sadly. The cook time is listed at 60-70 minutes and we had to pull it after 30 (our timer was set to 45 to try to accommodate the known oven issue)

oof, yeah. I was also going to suggest a foil tent but if the oven is that fucked your only real recourse is figuring out its specific quirks and working around them
