there's a social media-ish layer that exists but can't really be accessed from within any individual site on there and I can't figure out how to search by name in the big over-site, so instead i'm telling you how to do it using @highimpactsex's site as a demo because mine is still WIP and theirs already has extremely good stuff on it

Begin with the site URL ending in "neocities.org"

Take the site-specific bit of it (mimidoshima) and put it at the end of the neocities.org/site/ sequence like this

and now you can follow and get updates from that layer
It is possible this was all common knowledge and totally obvious, but I literally started this today and didn't see anything pointing it out. figured it might be helpful
