The main metric Cohost has the other sites beat on, definitively, is Bits Per User. On average, every poster has roughly 5.2 bits they will routinely go to the well for. Compare this to other sites, such as X, who's bit ratio comes in at around 1.3, Tumblr at 2.7, Mastadon at 1.1, Bluesky as 1.9, and Youtube which is a staggering 0.3 Bit Per User, owing largely to their enormous userbase of non-commenters and non-creators.

Now, this metric is not a metric of quality. Many bits are objectively Bad. Users of Cohost though are more willing to find a gimmick and stick with it for an extended period of time, with some even trying to define their own Posting Style from their collection of Bits.
