Seriously, this movie may be a classic, and it will be part of someone's childhood, but it hasn't aged well at all!
The first half is relatively solid, for a movie of that era anyways, but then through a "Fa-La-la-Laaaa-Lala!" transition we hit the bottom of the barrel and we don't lift off from there for the rest of the movie.
Also Bambi is deeply unlikeable as a character. I don't know who can sincerely like him, he's such a wet blanket. It's also very funny how this deer who has a deadbeat dad of a father, also grows to become a deadbeat dad. What a deeply unlikeable character, seriously.
Might be a hot take, but yeah. Movies of that era are more than flawed, and it's the nostalgia that gets in the way of our better judgment.
