one of the cautionary lectures i got in church as a teenager was from a guy who said that he knew a business executive who discovered porn in his 40s, and thoughts of porn filled all of his neural pathways until he was no longer smart enough to be an executive, so he had to become a construction worker instead.

the hardest part of this story for me to believe now is that there are executives smarter than construction workers.

Yeah there's an inherent classist sentiment there isn't there

I've heard orders of magnitude more stories about executives who don't know shit from applesauce and screw things over for the folks on the ground, than stories about foolish blue collar folks lmao

a lot of it is that a dumb blue collar worker might fuck things up for one or two or even ten people, but a dumb executive can fuck things up for thousands or millions, and it is often far easier for them to do

The idea that porn's gonna knock you enough off your executive game to ruin your career is hilarious. Like what, dicking around at a golf course all day and splitting your time between multiple companies isn't gonna upset things but jerking it is like kicking the Jenga tower?
