did i say i died from nhks little joke about "all words" being immediatly translatable (by making them a link to a translation site, but the actual joke nhk pulled there, was that you cannot copy the headline, except by typing it off the screen... which is doable thanks to furigana, but you need another device for that)?
now... some of you might have heard already, but this is just hillarious. so someone, some time ago, wrote on the internet about how some memcpy implementation SOUNDS better than others XD ....
direct link to website with the alleged "audiophile" version of memcpy
on a more serious note: i wonder if anyone is pushing backdoors with this sort of "social engineering": make claims about one function being better for some rich, spendy demographic, offer a third party library with a backdoor in completely different parts, hope the target will also use different parts? or maybe... using underhanded techniques throughout the library so that using one part will also include the backdoor somehow... while hoping nobody notices of course that their CC info is being sent back to the mothership...
i mean, idc if some silly goose or ganter buys an optical cable with gold plated connectors and ferrites.... but if you make software and believe wild claims about something? and seemingly lack the... scientific ... prowess ? ...to investigate properly... then that is a whole new problem. it's kinda like mounting a fiber laser to your car for better illumination or something... ... (and no i have not been busy thinking about mounting a fiber laser to my car to enforce some rules on the roads... like about cutting off people in traffic.... why would you suggest that? ... but now that you mentioned that hmmm....)
