oh, on further thought, one might see light indeed as a fieldline, coming off whatever, and eventually finding its way into a black hole or being absorbed by some other mass... but if you moved as fast as a photon, time would become meaningless, so it makes sense to perhaps look at it that way. but except that maybe any ftl datalink would be a sure fire way to either find out whether we are alone, whether there is something outside of time or whether an ai would have built it anyways to lure one of us into something sinister, or maybe not, perhaps an agi would be benevolent towards the planets ecosphere and forgiving to humanities failures and perhaps keep us as pets, maybe even allow us to play with money until we grow up as a species to enter the space ships it by then would have built for us to go and explore the stars, many perhaps settling on the moon to support the endeavour to perhaps make earth into a natural reserve. eventually humanity might evolve to accept and love each other and not look to profit over one another.
