it's always felt insane to me that shrek's entire popularity came from being an absurd, irreverent parody of classic disney, and then we just got 20 straight years of fart jokes and quips
Just keep repeating jokes written for the cultural context of 2001 until they lose all meaning and just become a pure signifier of the idea of a joke
