i think if a website makes recommendations, it should also allow me to tell it to fuck off and perhaps touch some grass in case they "loved" one of the shitshows they recommend.
ok... so they argue gonzales' definition of a recommendation is to broad i guess... well, then instead of putting your foot down and saying no to something sensible, how about come up with a better definition?
i think an algorithm that is determining what to recommend next based on the users' activity with the set goal to further the users engagement with the site MUST be liable for the recommendations it makes.
and with a user generated hypertext document, there is no such a thing.
