A king once loosed its dog on the throat of a terrible demon. It came back maimed but with the job not finished; It tried to do as was asked but the king feared it and threw it down a well to hide his shame. Without the teeth the king cast away he became a hermit, and could only regain nobility after digging the dog back up and wearing its teeth as his own.
