I remember a time where I also bitched about black people in The Witcher or lack of male leads or whatever.

I got better.

Unfortunately, this has not increased my enjoyment of TV shows etc., because I can now get mad about it bad cinematography, stupid plot and other legitimate reasons.

Replace all the actors in The Last Jedi with big tiddy 10/10 goth smoke shows and I'll still drive myself into a berserker trance while talking about.

Time traveling me: in the future, you'll have a new Call of Duty game every year and there will be a lot of superhero movies and TV shows... and Star Wars will constantly put out movies and show!

12yo me: wowie-zowie! Who could have believe that we'd live in such a great world after 9/11, which happened not even a month ago!

TT me: yeah, no, all the shows and movies will suck.

12yo: oh... will I at least have Warhammer minis?

TT me: kid, you will never enjoy 40K as much as you did when you couldn't even dream of buying minis.

I still enjoy games from my childhood, although I enjoy them differently than I did when I was a kid. I think kids can get deeper into games because they lack responsibilities. It's harder to get lost in a game for hours at a time because I have things to take care of. But, it's worth trying.

For example, adult version of me enjoys morning coffee with games, something that kid version of me would never do. And of course sometimes I have beer while gaming.

But, adult version of me enjoys different things. Like lately, I'm reading more non-fiction. As a kid I only read fiction, but I'm finding that I like learning about and reading about things that actually happened. So, it would seem that some things are lost as you age, but other things are gained.

Games are a different thing. I was talking more about movies and shit. I was perfectly happy with all the Star Wars prequels (mostly Attack of the Clones because Clones are cool) until I watched Plinkett reviews, so there's some changing adult perspective there.

But it's more about... the monkeypaw effect of your hobbies becoming mainstream, you know? There will be a whole of them, but they'll suck [and you'll be surrounded by background droning of people who don't demand anything else from a Star Wars movie/show than to be Star Wars].

I'm fairly certain that Call of Duty 2->Modern Warfare 1 are still good games, and so are the first two Fallouts (even if F1 bafflingly doesn't have a take-all button).

As for Warhammer, I guess I enjoyed it the most when I still didn't understand anything about the rules, though some plot developments (like Beast Rising) certainly didn't help enjoying the lore :v
