I just want you to know that I am the person who finished the game without boost packs. The game doesn't ever require them and I wasn't spending an extra second on anything to grind even one spare skill point for unlocking them. I assure you the story only gets worse as it progresses past the initial twist (with a great deal of oversights and self-contradictions, despite not delving into any of the more complex ideas implied by their chosen conceit). A huge number of details are already gone from my memory, which is a great sign; I mostly finished it on inertia and, yes, a lack of friction. It was easy to keep going despite no longer caring - though if I hadn't finished in that one sitting, I absolutely wouldn't have been able to start the game the next day.
I can respect a game that takes a swing and misses. Starfield doesn't even show up to the ball game and it makes me feel insane that people talk about it like it's an improvement on the Bethesda formula.

Shine on, you crazy diamond!
Exploring the planets with a boostpack was painful enough, I don't know how you survived without it.
I'll have to spoil myself on that twist, your rants got me curious and at the same time persuaded me to not even entertain the thought of playing that game.
This is one hell of a spectacular beating you gave to this poor piece of the ultimate AAA blandness!
Probably reading this text is the peak amount of pure fun I shall ever get from anything Starfield related.
