Nobody would pay for all those extras or the costumes!!!
Though more realistically, the animal cruelty wouldn't be allowed. Which is a good thing, because knowing what you know about that aspect, it takes you out entirely out of those scenes and into thinking about the animals.
A lot of Soviet citizens joined Nazi military or police, partially because Nazi POW camps were just starvung people to death, some out of nationalism, and some because USSR was a fuck.
A common story for these guys is giving up to the Allies at the end of war, and Allies then promptly turning them over to the USSR.
It would be, but then you start reading their unit histories and it's like:
- Formation
- War Crimes
- Invention of New Warcrimes
- Window- and Orphan-Tossing Competition
- Expulsion from the SS [for too many warcrimes]
Auxiliary police was obviously intended for anti-partisan [counter-insurgency] duties, which invariably turns into killing innocents (who, unlike partisans, aren't armed or in hiding). But even the direct combat units did their share of slaughter because clean Wehrmacht has always been a myth.
