yea like it bugs me that games with a lot of fun realistic features end up almost always being historical, so playing with those mechanics/approaches means playing in a design space limited by history

Ie for most relevant strategy genres if a game isnt entirely focused on combat and economy then its not scifi/fantasy.

I want internal politics and cultural aspects in my fantasy grand strat! I want various design paths like regiments or steel division while being scifi or fantasy! “Realistic” operational or tactical vehicle combat ahhh

At least i can look forward to the Anbennar mod for Victoria 3

Word! You've probably heard me say that I want a TWW mod that's just an indepth Empire campaign with politics and stuff.

I'm tired of 4X like Stelaris et al starting on a clean slate. I want a fantasy/sci-fi/sci-fi and fantasy to start with set borders, cores, existing stresses between factions.

Army building like in whichever HoI is considered best and politics like in Democracy and research like in Space Empires V or HoI 2 and diplomacy like in Space Empires V...
