  1. Historians, get my ass here, but how realistic is, say, TES saying "you have iron armor, and then you have steel armor?" Would the difference between contemporary make of armor be more of method (chain vs. scale vs. whatever the fuck lorica segmentata is) rather than material? Of course, maybe not all materials are suited for all makes - maybe ebony just doesn't work with the chain creation process.
  2. Iron and steel are both metals, right? So why don't we have leather armor differentiated by what leather was used? Surely fantasy has creatures with skins that would have the most astounding leather qualities.
  3. When the cowards finally understand armor layering, will we be allowed to wear magical gambesons under our plate?
