At one point in 7E, I read fandexes (fan army lists) for fun and all of them were garbage where rules, unit and power bloat runs rampant and still fails to catch up to the awful Mary Sue-filled fan lore.

Not a fan of the "From the moment we’d established what the Empire was and what Chaos was, we’d destined Archaon to ascend and destroy that setting", partially because Archaon is a fucking stupid character and End Times is garbage that's begging from being retconned out of existence, but also because I can't believe that GW would have planned something that much in advance.

Another bit of the article that I don't like is "but what about technologies that exist now that would have been forgotten by the time of Karl Franz???" with their most immediate concern being "steam tanks aren't rare!!!" which is giving into some of the worst nerd impulses to make something special commonplace and [rant devolves into Star Wars nerd rage]
