I think Borges is correct in principle when he posits true immortality as a curse, but I think he's absolutely wrong that someone would get bored of life within a couple thousand years. I would bet a considerable sum that it would take me five thousand years minimum to get sick of living if my body remained in decent condition, and I would probably make it to ten if people kept making music and food
As a person interested in history... lmao, shit keeps happening ALL THE FUCKING.
In just 30 years of my life, we had the collapse of the USSR, 9/11, Covid... and also the internet going from being "a thing nerds use to text each other" to "the global power making your grandma and your nephew fascist".
I don't know if this shit is ever going to get boring.
