The most annoying thing about the Christmas season is that

  1. It's being inflated and bloated by people who venerate and worship Mammon above of all else;
  2. People who believe that "War on Christmas" is a thing are fighting to keep the Mammonist version of the holiday alive, anything else be damned.

If I can't open an Advent calendar yet, don't hang up any public decorations!

Man, this was the subject of the day yesterday. Or, at the very least, I had a fairly long conversation related to it.

How do you assign responsibility/culpability/blame if bad parenting is intergenerational? At what point an adult can be reasonably assumed to have the capacity to realize that they're hurting people and be required to change?

In Lithuanian, we have the phrase "the first generation away from the plough" to denote the huge change from rural farming to urban living, probably concerning my grandparents' generation vs. my parents'.

We're now coining *first generation on therapy" as a bold claim that my gen (Millennials, roughly) are the ones getting therapy and following processional advice on parenting.

This should cover, among other things, men becoming at all emotionally available.
