What an absolutely forgettable movie!
Two notable things:
- Heroes never kill anyone: for the murder-hobo simulator movie, they go to some absurd lengths to depict that anyone the heroes - including the axe-wielding barbarian - fought survived. She dunks a guard's head in molten iron. A short or two later, we can see that guy trying to put out his clothes that had caught fire. The only sorta exception is the druid, maybe.
- It absolutely doesn't represent DnD mechanics: the garbage "Vancian" spell mechanics? Gone. Sorcerors being any different from wizards? Nope. Rests of any sort? Not a thing. Any limitations on Wildshape that exist in the game? Lmao. Lol.
It's more of a forgettable Forgotten Realms movie, really.
On the other hand, it's true to the unspoken rule that the only way to have fun with DnD is not to follow the dogshit rules.
