With the game hewing that closely to Space Marine and each Formation (collection of Detachments, which are just units) potentially coming from a different legion, this opens the opportunity to collect multiple flavorful small "armies" (Formations).
I could eventually have a plug-and-play collection <3

The model thing isn't new, they had to simplify and revise production as they the originals involved a silly amount of steps to make.
But you can then look at stuff like small details on the eagle, with variants nicknamed Big Foot and Mad Face existing.
