my like. white whale of game modification is The Perfect Hodge-Podge Of Minecraft Resource Packs.
i have pretty strong opinions about minecraft resource packs. vanilla-esque is the only way to go, 16x is what the game looks best at (faithful 32x is fine), and hundreds of custom models and textures that you get through convoluted connected texture setups and renaming blocks is useless. but since the peak of my minecraft-playing career, texture packs turned to resource packs and got way more complicated to make and that usually stops me from actually pursuing Perfection™. what i really want is a combination of several resource packs in the vanilla tradition, but load-order is not precise enough to make it.
